Airflow does lose some pressure as it moves through any bend. At 60 litres per second the pressure loss is 9Pa, rising to 36Pa at 120 litres per second and 80Pa at 180 litres per second. This is worth factoring in when your installer is calculating the total ducting run, particularly if there are several bends between the hood and the outside wall, as each one adds a small amount of resistance that the extraction fan needs to overcome.
