What It Is

This is a specialised hinge pack designed specifically for Space Tower units, Blum's tall pull-out larder system. The wide-angled hinges open to 155 degrees and are engineered to prevent the internal pull-out drawers from hitting the back of the opened door. Each pack contains four hinges with integrated Blumotion soft-close in a nickel finish.

Where It Fits

These hinges are exclusively for Space Tower larder units, typically installed in tall housing units between 1800mm and 2200mm high. The 155-degree opening angle makes them particularly useful where you need full access to the interior storage system without the door getting in the way.

How It Works

The wide opening angle creates clearance for the Space Tower's pull-out baskets to extend fully without collision. The integrated Blumotion mechanism adapts to each door's weight and closing force, bringing it to a controlled, silent close regardless of how firmly you push it. The system includes three-dimensional adjustment, letting you fine-tune the door position by up to 3mm in height and depth.

Why It Matters

In a tall larder unit, you're often reaching for items while baskets are pulled out. These hinges ensure the door stays well clear of your working space and the extended storage. The soft-close function becomes particularly valuable on tall, heavy doors where the momentum could otherwise cause a hard slam.

Build Quality

The hinges use Blum's established Clip-top mechanism with steel construction and nickel plating. The Blumotion soft-close is built into the hinge boss rather than added as a separate component, making it more reliable and longer-lasting. All mounting plates, covers and fixings are included in the pack.

Design Consideration

This is a system-specific product. If you're planning a Space Tower installation, these hinges are engineered to work with that exact configuration. For standard cabinet doors or other storage systems, different hinges would be more appropriate. The nickel finish coordinates with contemporary hardware but may not suit kitchens with exclusively brass or black fittings.
