What It Is

The AVENTOS HL top is Blum's lever arm set for parallel lift cabinet doors. When you open the door, it lifts straight up and runs parallel to the ceiling, keeping the door completely out of your way while you access the cabinet contents.

Where It Fits

This mechanism works in wall cabinets between 300mm and 340mm in height, spanning cabinet widths from 300mm up to 1800mm. You'll typically find this type of opening on cabinets above worktops where headroom is limited, or where you want the door to stay completely clear of the workspace below.

How It Works

The lever arms connect your cabinet door to the frame and control its movement as it opens. Push the door gently and it lifts upward, then travels back to sit parallel with the cabinet top. The mechanism holds the door in position while you use the cabinet, then guides it smoothly back down when you close it.

Why It Matters

With the door held parallel above the cabinet, you have completely unobstructed access to shelves and contents. There's no door swinging out into your workspace or hitting your head as you work at the worktop below. This is particularly valuable in galley kitchens or anywhere space is at a premium.

Design Consideration

This mechanism works best when you have sufficient headroom above the cabinet for the door to travel. The door needs to be between 1.5kg and 9kg, so it suits most standard cabinet doors but may not work with very heavy solid timber or thick doors. Consider your typical cabinet contents too, as you'll need to reach up into the cabinet to access items at the back.
