What It Is

This is Blum's AVENTOS HL top lift system, designed to raise small cabinet doors straight up and parallel to the cabinet face. The door lifts up and away from you, staying open until you choose to close it.

Where It Fits

You'll find this system works best in wall units where there's another cabinet above, particularly mid-height and high wall units. It suits cabinets between 300mm and 580mm tall, and up to 1800mm wide. The parallel lift action means the door won't swing out into your kitchen space.

How It Works

Two lift mechanisms connect to lever arms that guide the door upward. When you push the door up, it rises parallel to the cabinet face and holds position. The BLUMOTION system provides controlled, soft closing when you pull the door down. The mechanisms are designed symmetrically, so the system works with both wooden doors and those with aluminium frames.

Why It Matters

This lift action is particularly useful when you're cooking. The door moves completely out of your way and stays open, so you're not constantly pushing it aside to reach inside. Unlike a conventional hinged door that swings out, this won't interfere with your movement around the kitchen or clash with other open doors.

Design Consideration

This system works well when you have limited clearance above the cabinet or when you want the door to stay open hands-free. However, you need adequate internal cabinet depth, at least 264mm, for the mechanism to fit properly. The system requires specific power factor calculations based on your door weight and dimensions to ensure smooth operation.

Blum's engineering shows in the symmetrical design of the mechanisms and brackets, which simplifies installation and ensures consistent operation. The BLUMOTION soft-close technology is integrated into the lift mechanism rather than added as an afterthought. The silk white finish coordinates with contemporary kitchen hardware.

The basic kit includes BLUMOTION soft-close operation. You can also specify SERVO-DRIVE, Blum's electrical assistance system, which provides effortless opening with just a gentle push. The SERVO-DRIVE option comes with a five-year warranty, though it requires a separate transformer that's not included in the kit.
