What It Is

The AVENTOS HK top is Blum's lift mechanism for overhead cupboard doors that open upwards. Rather than hinged doors that swing out into your kitchen space, this system allows the door to lift up and stay in position above the cupboard opening. Each pair of mechanisms supports doors across cabinets from 300mm to 1800mm wide.

Where It Fits

This works in wall-mounted cupboards where you want full access to the contents without doors getting in your way. It's particularly useful above worktops where swinging doors would block your working space, or in kitchens with islands where people move around the space frequently. Your cabinet needs to be at least 261mm deep internally and between 205mm to 600mm high to accommodate the mechanism.

How It Works

The mechanism uses gas struts to lift the door smoothly upwards when you start the opening motion. Once lifted, it holds the door in position without effort from you. When you're ready to close it, a gentle pull downwards starts the closing motion and the mechanism controls the speed so the door settles quietly into place. This particular version is compatible with Blum's SERVO-DRIVE system, which means it can be motorised to open with just a light touch.
